Dedebit Credit and Saving Microfinance (DECSI) has been providing customer-oriented services emphasizing for the rural and urban poor in Tigray region and beyond since its establishment. DECSI is also leading forward to recover itself from the war revealed institutional performances by adopting different reforms and strategic decisions. One of the reforms undertaken in the recovery stage is organizing the structural arrangement of the institution. Accordingly, departments and different Service units were reorganized to suit the required outcomes.
One of the key departments organized under the Chief Executive Officer is the Business development, Research and Planning department. With the following key responsibilities:
- Prepare the strategic and operational plans of DECSI and follow-up their implementations;
- Develop and implement customer relationship marketing strategy;
- Set and monitor customer service standards;
- Assist branch managers in attracting new and potential customers;
- Develop mechanisms for coping with changes in the internal and external environment in which the institution operates;
- Initiate and conduct applied research and business development studies that enable to identify new techniques and innovative ideas in the areas of investment, ICT and new technologies etc. useful to improve the institutional services;
- Market studies to:
- Open new Branches, upgrade existing Branch operations;
- Promote existing services;
- Develop and introduce new products and services to attract customers;
- Handle all promotion duties, design new promotion policies and strategies, initiate and review programs to improve promotion activities;
- Handles corporate communication issues of the institution;
- Develop relationship and close collaboration and networking with business partners and stakeholders while monitoring the behavior of major competitors through a continuous assessment of their activities and performance in each target market.
