October 30, 2023. DECSI, Tigray. Dedebit Credit and Saving Institution (DECSI) introduced new digital technology called Tele Birr. The digital Tele Birr service officially launched on October 30, 2023 in the presence of the CEO, vice COEs, and management members, staff and representatives from Ethiotelecom at DECSI head office.
As the digital service coordinators explained, Tele Birr service is easily manageable, deliver fast money transfer, convenient and secure. Understanding these all smart financial service advantages, DECSI in discussion with Ethiotelecom, took the responsibility to serve its clients being as master agent service provider. Thus, DECSI customers will have service opportunities of bill payment, payment for Ethiopian airline, fuel subsidy, international remittance, receive and send money from and to Banks, mobile package and airtime gift etc.
According to Mr. Mulugeta Birhane, the CEO, DECSI at this time has around 1.5 million money depositors. These depositors should have to be served in a digitalized manner, like the Tele Birr and other system based financial services. The digital Tele Birr service launching ceremony organized by DECSI has got both TV and Radio coverage program to well deliver into the public. Soon, the Tele Birr service operated by DECSI will expand its digital service to zonal branches.
